Based in Middlewich, Cheshire, SpanSet Ltd is the Competence Centre for Height Safety and Services within the Group.  Our areas of expertise include Work at Height and Rescue, Training, Lifting, Load Control and Management of Equipment. We design, manufacture and supply equipment for industry and offer a wide range of Installation, Training and Inspection services, all backed by SpanSet’s technical expertise and support.  Our market leading Training department benefits from excellent facilities and successfully trains 25,000+ candidates annually.

SpanSet Ltd have 50+ years’ experience working with our customers, ensuring they comply with legislation to keep their workforce safe.  We offer solutions to complex safety related problems and have developed close relationships working with a wide variety of customers in a range of industry sectors - from scaffolding to telecoms, the military to renewables. 

SpanSet is an innovative, ambitious and customer focused company.  We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a background in Industrial sales to join our Team.


The Role:

  • Manage, support and develop a team of six sales staff.  The Team includes office-based sales, Telesales and field sales.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of existing key house accounts.
  • Develop new business opportunities and grow the customer base.
  • Deliver consistent profitable growth in all products and services offered by the business.
  • The role is based at our headquarters in Middlewich, though travel around the UK is expected where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate:

The Sales Manager role requires an experienced, highly motivated and commercially aware individual capable of supporting, developing and driving our existing Sales Team.  Experience in selling both products and services is essential.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to inspire a Team.
  • A structured and professional approach to sales team management with excellent communication, mentoring and people management skills.
  • A successful track record in business-to-business sales and account management with a proven ability to drive the sales process from plan through to close.
  • Previous experience working within the Height Safety, Lifting or Load Control sales environment an advantage.
  • IT Skills and the ability to manage activities including planning and reporting for yourself and the team.
