What name/nickname do you prefer to be called? 

I always introduce myself as Katie, some shorten it to Kate which I don’t mind at all 😊 

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be? 

I am the newest member of the Customer Support Team having joined SpanSet in May 2019 after working in Sales for a hearing aid company for 17 years, travelling all over the country.  My role involves working on quotations, orders and helping to resolve customer queries.  It’s a busy office and I’m glad I’m able to utilise my experience from my previous job, though it’s certainly a different market!  I deal with export and our International customers – from Malaysia to Norway, Dubai to Australia.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I changed job for a better work life balance and certainly achieved that with no more travel and a 7 minute commute – wonderful 😊 

I feel a sense of achievement every day both personally and as part of a team – the Customer Support Team is great and we work hard together - I like to be busy and we are every day!   

I find my role interesting and really enjoy dealing with a wide variety of customers in so many different sectors – from Super Yachts to the Fire and Rescue Services. Being involved with supplying equipment to the MOD when the dam at Whaley Bridge needed urgent repair is a good example. 

What are your hobbies? 

I have always been keen on going to the gym, windsurfing and love long walks in the countryside, being outdoors and with my family.  I have really thrown myself into gardening recently and have enjoyed watching it grow.   

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I have a passion for horses and love being around these wonderful animals. 

I have collected dolls houses from being very young and this has been a continuous hobby I love to do with my mum 😊
