Subsidy for Inclusivity Technology for SMEs starting October 2025

Good news for SME entrepreneurs: starting October 1, 2025, companies can apply for a subsidy for inclusive technology. This initiativehelps employers make the workplace more accessible and future-proof.

Purpose of the initiative

From October 1, 2025, employers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for subsidies to purchase work-supportive and inclusive technology, as well as for consultancy services regarding their implementation

The initiative is intended to encourage employers to hire people with disabilities or to better support existing employees who require assistance at work. This applies to workers with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments who face barriers in participating in the labor market.

Who is eligible

The subsidy is available to SMEs with a maximum of 250 employees. In addition, annual turnover must not exceed €50 million, or the annual balance sheet total must not exceed €43 million.

Applications and registration

Applications are submitted via the Subsidy Portal of Uitvoering Van Beleid (UVB). To apply, employers must first register, which will be possible starting September 15, 2025.

Application periods

  • First period: October 1 to November 28, 2025 (5:00 PM)
  • Second period: January 5 to May 29, 2026 (5:00 PM)
Applications will be assessed in order of submission, provided they are complete.

Subsidy amounts

This initiativecan reimburse up to 50% of costs. The other half must be financed by the employer.

  • Per application, up to €25,000 in subsidy may be granted (minimum €2,500).
  • For consultancy and implementation services, an additional subsidy of up to €1,000 (excluding VAT) applies. This must be applied for at the same time as the technology itself.

Summary

The Inclusivity Technology subsidy initiativeprovides SME employers with financial support to invest in tools that make the workplace more accessible. This represents an important step towards a labor market in which everyone can participate.

Exoskeletons are explicitly mentioned in the subsidy initiative as supportive technology. They reduce physical strain when lifting heavy loads, prolonged bending, or working above shoulder height. This lowers the risk of injury or absenteeism and makes work more accessible for employees with physical limitations. The right type of exoskeleton always depends on the specific work situation and the user; a proper assessment beforehand is therefore essential.

Why this is interesting for your company

  1. More inclusivity in the workplace
With tools such as exoskeletons, employees with physical limitations can perform their work more easily and safely. This directly contributes to sustainable employability and inclusive teams.

  2. Financial support for investments
Thanks to the subsidy scheme, SMEs can halve their investment in this technology, making innovative solutions more attainable.
  3. Preparation pays off
Registration via the subsidy portal is already possible from September 15, 2025. Proper preparation increases the chance of a successful application.
