In order to select the lashing equipment we must always know the necessary LC (Lashing Capacity ) according to the calculations of the norm EN 12195-3.

How to lash loads with a chain tensioner


  Safety Check   Inspect the chain kit and make sure that it is free of any defects or damage.
  1   Attach the 1st hook of the chain kit to the item to be attached so that it cannot come loose.
  2   Attach the 2nd hook to the truck bed.
*If you have excess chain, before attaching the 2nd hook, use the chain shortening device to manually adjust the excess chain.
  3   Adjust the ratchet with the lever to its maximum tension.

Ensure proper clamping, check the tension of the chain kit after about 5 to 10 minutes of travel.

Preventing unintentional release

According to EN 12195-3 connecting parts like sling hooks and shortening parts like grab hooks must have a device preventing them from unintentional release. Our ExoSet® grab hooks for lashing got a safety pin for that reason. Please do not use regular grab hooks without a safety pin for chain lashing.
