All new Thiele lifting components are developed with a patented design. This updated design gives the Thiele brand a distinctive and recognizable appearance. For over 85 years, Thiele has stood for durability, reliability, and premium quality. This added value — safety and assurance — is literally forged into the elliptical contours of our components.
Our experience with other products on the market shows that the promised product properties are often not consistently upheld. Standards are frequently referenced but rarely fully met. Safety requirements for lifting products go far beyond simply defining a breaking load. The frequency and depth of in-process quality checks during production play a major role in the final product quality. That’s why our motto is:
The new elliptical shape serves as a clear point of recognition, especially for end users. It also gives our products a modern and dynamic look — lifting, moving, and securing loads can also be done with style. The elliptical contours of our components reflect what our customers have come to expect from Thiele for decades: a consistent, exceptionally high standard of quality. The result of years of experience with controlled, safe, and refined production processes:
"MADE BY THIELE!"

In 1935, August Thiele founded the company. With just 8 employees welding chains over a forge fire, the foundation was laid. The introduction of automatic bending and welding machines soon made the heavy work significantly easier.

In the 1950s, THIELE began producing mining chains. The stainless steel grade 23 MnNiMoCr 54, developed and tested by THIELE, has since become the standard for high-performance chains. The chains themselves, ranging from 22 mm to 48 mm in diameter, were also designed in-house by THIELE.

By the end of the 1960s, the product range was expanded through the acquisition of Schlieper for heavy anchor chains and the addition of snow chain production (Nordland).

Today, THIELE produces over 5,000 types of chains and accessories, and has manufactured the longest (915 m) and heaviest (100 t) anchor chains in the world. With CAD design and computer-controlled manufacturing, we guarantee top quality and meet the highest global standards.

The THIELE Foundation is a shareholder of the THIELE Group. Together with customers, universities, and research institutes, we develop innovative solutions. Intensive research in materials science and design results in lighter, more stable, and safer products.
