The load bearing polyester fibres are protected from UV, the environment and abrasion during use by the woven sleeving which surround them. This sleeve makes the inspection and maintenance of the sling simple and safe. If any holes are present in the sleeve the sling should be removed from service. In this way the sling will always retain 100% of its 7000kg strength while in service. By retiring the sling when the sleeve is compromised the worker is never put at risk of using a partially damaged sling, which could happen with traditional flat webbing slings.
