What is a Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL)?

A self-retracting lifeline (SRL), also known as an inertia reel or fall arrest block, is a high-performance safety device designed to arrest a fall within inches. Functioning similarly to a car seatbelt, the lifeline remains taut as the user moves, but locks instantly during a sudden acceleration.
