The SpanSet SVLWB-20 is a manually operated personnel and materials winch built for confined space entry, retrieval, and rescue work. It uses a galvanised steel wire rope, 4.8mm in diameter, would over a levelling cable guide that keeps the line tracking evenly on the drum through the full 20m length.
A primary brake automatically holds the load in place the instant winding stops or the handle is released, so the load never free-runs. The winch attaches to a compatible tripod or davit arm via a heavy-duty mounting bracket secured with two quick-release locking pins, allowing fast, tool-free setup and breakdown on site. The wire rope terminates in a locking, swivel, double-action snap hook, swaged directly to the cable for a secure, non-slip connection point.
Maximum working load capacity is 157kg and minimum working load is 12kg. When the SVLWB-20 is used to lift or lower personnel, it must always be deployed alongside a secondary means of fall protection — such as a SpanSet fall arrest block — fitted to the worker independently of the winch line.
