The original, reinvented. No guesswork. Total confidence.
SpanSet are the originators of Temporary Webbing safety Lines. For over 20 years, our iconic HSL 'Red SpanSet' has been trusted worldwide - often copied, never equalled.
Now, drawing on our Height Safety, Lifting and Load Control expertise, we introduce the HSL2: our most advanced temporary horizontal webbing anchor line yet.
When lives depend on it - be sure with SpanSet.
Take the guesswork out of temporary anchor lines
Does your workforce use temporary horizontal safety lines?
- Are you certain they’re installed, tensioned and locked correctly?
- Are clearance heights calculated accurately?
- Are the components truly fit for purpose in the event of a fall?
HSL2 is the first temporary horizontal webbing anchor line that removes the guesswork entirely.
Unlike anything else on the market, the HSL2 allows the installer to:
- Confirm the correct tension
- Ensure the ratchet is correctly loaded
- Be confident the system is locked and safe
Every time.

- How the Tension Force Indicator works
- Why HSL2 is different from conventional webbing lines
Key Benefits at a Glance

Up to 20m of safe, reliable anchor point
Allowing workers to move freely across a wider working area.

Designed for accurate clearance height calculation
An essential safety feature for fall arrest applications.

Can be anchored at foot level.
Improving flexibility in real-world site conditions.

Increased efficiency on site.
No need to install multiple individual anchor points.

Straightforward to Inspect
Quality Components - Designed for real safety
HSL2 is not just a webbing line - it's a fully engineered safety system.

Quality SpanSet Ratchet
Featuring patented Tension Force Indicator (TFI) technology -
- Guarantees safe installation every time
- Integrated fill-line indicator shows when the ratchet is loaded with the correct number of webbing turns.
- Improved mechanism allows finer adjustment for precise tensioning.

Safety Swivel Anchor Hooks
Not karabiners
- Prevent twisting during installation
- Remain closed and secure under load
- Tested under cyclic loading for windy conditions*
- Will not fail due to vibration
*Wind can cause high frequency vibration in the line, this could cause a traditional karabiner to fail. Our safety swivel hooks will not fail in windy conditions.

In-Line Connection Rings
Two sliding rings ensure compatability with all lanyard connectors.
- Smooth movement along the line
- Reduces wear on webbing
- Prevents ill-fitting connectors catching

Integrated Storage & Transport Bag -
- Makes set-up intuitive
- Protects spare webbing
- Reduces wear and tear on site
Tension Force Indicator (TFI)
Allows the worker to confirm the tension applied by the ratchet to the line is correct every time!
When using a temporary horizontal anchor line, it is essential workers know how much the web would deflect in the event of a fall. This is critical for fall arrest applications where too much deflection of the line could mean there might not be enough clearance height.

Intuitive to set up, secure and tension correctly
No guesswork!

Step 1
First anchorage point
Connect the hook to anchor point. We recommend using a high quality anchor sling such as the SpanSet Viper Roundsling for strength and ease of handling.

Step 2
Release the lifeline travel
Thanks to the swivel hooks ir will prevent the line from twisting.

Step 3
Second anchorage point
Connect the second hook to the end of the section to be secured.

Step4
Apply the correct tension
The features on the specially designed ratchet will help you to ensure the line is secure and correctly tensioned.
Where is HSL2 used?
HSL2 protects workers accessing unprotected edges across mutliple sectors, including
- Construction (eg. slab edges)
- Nuclear
- Warehousing & logisitics
- Marine & Offshore
- Industrial maintenance
A single, versatile system for multiple high-risk environments
