Adam Mulheir - Installations and Inspections Services Supervisor

What name/nickname do you prefer to be called.

‘Ads’ is my preferred name in day-to-day life; however I’m also known as ‘Eddie’ to my close friends and ‘Brows’ after the two monstrous eyebrows I inherited at birth from the Irish side of my family.

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

I am the Installations and Inspections Services Supervisor.   My responsibilities include surveying/pricing up work and liaising with Clients, helping them find the best solution for ensuring a safe working environment in what can be extreme locations.  I am regularly out on site with my Team installing our range of permanent wire lifelines and/or carrying out equipment inspections.

I worked for my family’s fabrication business for many years and ran my own roofing company for 6 years.  I was looking for a new challenge, where I could use my skills, qualifications and experience.  My new role at SpanSet fits the bills well.  I work with a great team here and am looking forward to growing Installations and Inspections in the coming years.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

Our Permanent wire lifeline installations help to keep workers safe when working at height, as does ensuring equipment is correctly inspected and safe to use.  There’s a great deal of job satisfaction in keeping people safe.

What are your hobbies? What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I'm a lifelong Manchester United fan and had a season ticket for many years.  I travelled Europe for the Champions League as well as around England for cup games.  Sadly, I no longer travel as much to support Manchester United as other priorities have taken over these days, however I am a keen golfer and play in the Hanging Gate Golf Society with lads from my local area.  I have 6 majors (competition wins) to my name over the years.

I'm a keen fisherman which is a family hobby, my brothers and I have gone fishing together since we were young.  I’m fortunate to also have a close set of friends who I have grown up with - we travel to events like Gigs, F1  and cricket matches together .
