Malcolm Peacock - Lifting Business Development Manager

What name/nickname do you prefer to be called? 

Family and friends and many colleagues have always called me Malc so Malcolm or Malc works fine for me. Although when I hear “Malcolm” at home it’s usually because I’m in trouble or need to do a job!

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be? 

Business Development is fitting as it encompasses many activities. My more recent roles have included sales, working with distributors and their sales people, product development and solutions, and product training, all of which ultimately contributes to the development of the business.

What do you enjoy about the work you do? 

I have been very fortunate that over the years my positions have taken me around the world, including being based in Abu Dhabi for 13 years. This has given me the opportunity not only to travel but to work with different people of different cultures and backgrounds, and to learn how things are done in different industries and different parts of the World. I’m now settled back here in the UK and enjoying being involved in the lifting industry here again - I am looking forward to applying the experience and knowledge I have gained into this role.

What are your hobbies? 

I have always kept active with various martial arts, boxing, cycling and general gym. Now I am a little older and busier I enjoy getting out on scenic walks with the family, but I am keen to get back in the ring, just for enjoyment and to keep myself fit. On the other end of the scale, I enjoy cooking (especially BBQ) and really enjoy consuming the results! I also enjoy taking the odd photo here and there.

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work? 

Whilst living in Abu Dhabi I helped out where I could in the local boxing club, helping with some of the less experienced guys and to source equipment, setting up etc. Nowadays life is pretty busy getting the kids to where they need to be, sports and other activities, but when I do get time, I enjoy keeping the house and garden up together and can easily spend several hours pottering out the back.
