When cars or lighter vehicles are stranded on a busy motorway, every second counts. Police officers must act quickly to remove vehicles from live lanes, reducing danger to the public and traffic officers alike.
Recovery
The rescue vehicle must then be recovered safely from the motorway - by towing or by loading onto a recovery vehicle.
Stranded vehicles can be badly damaged, complicating both the rescue and recovery process.

Two Essential Tools in One Smart Kit!
Developed in collaboration with Cheshire Police, this all-in-one solution features a Rescue Strop and Recovery Brother, neatly packed in a convenient holdall for quick deployment.
Recovery Brother/Rescue Strop combination can be used when a stranded vehicle doesn't have a useable towing eye (due to an accident for example) or when recovering a standed vehicle to the services/place of safety. The kit is also used for winching operations.
The Rescue Strop: Shackle at one end - for attachment to the towing vehicle.
The Rescue Strop: Shackle at the opposite end which can attach directly to the stranded vehicle or if necessary, be back hooked around the axel to a metal ring.
The Rescue Strop: Hi-Vis sleeve in middle of Rescue Strop ensures visibility when towing and avoids anyone trying to pass between the two vehicles.
Recovery Brother: Each end of the Recovery Brother is back hooked around the wishbone to fixed delta link. The Rescue Strop is then connected to the Recovery Brother via a floating metal ring.
