The SpanSet Saverline SVLB-3 is a self-retracting fall arrest block (SRL) built around a 3m Technora webbing lifeline, chosen for its resistance to cutting and abrasion in demanding industrial settings. The unit's internal braking mechanism engages automatically in a fall, limiting arrest force to 4kN and keeping the load well below the lifeline's 15kN minimum breaking load. A webbing tear-away fall indicator gives inspectors an immediate, visible sign if the block has arrested a fall, supporting pre-use checks and ongoing compliance with inspection schedules. 

The block connects via triple action karabiners rated to a 16kN gate strength at both the top anchor point and the bottom attachment, and its aluminium housing keeps total weight to 1.785kg for a device rated to a 150kg capacity load. The SVLB-3 is designed for overhead use only; workers should always confirm the anchor point is positioned above the user's work area before connecting, and any unit that has arrested a fall must be withdrawn from service and returned to SpanSet for inspection.

On site, the SVLB-3 is used as a personal fall arrest device wherever a worker needs mobility below a fixed overhead anchor — common scenarios include maintenance work on elevated plant, access to rooftop equipment, tank and vessel entry with an overhead anchor point, and general industrial tasks performed on ladders, EWPs, or fixed platforms. Its compact 490 x 105 x 77mm housing and low weight make it practical to carry and rig quickly compared to bulkier SRL alternatives, while the cut-resistant Technora lifeline is suited to environments with sharp edges, metal fabrication, or abrasive surfaces where standard webbing lifelines would be at greater risk of damage. The triple action karabiners allow the block to be anchored overhead and connected to a harness dorsal or sternal D-ring, giving the worker a self-retracting connection that takes up slack as they move and arrests a fall automatically if it occurs.
