Entry Requirements
Students should have a good level of the English language to be able to appropriately communicate and numeracy skills in relation to telling time and counting. A preliminary assessment for these entry requirements is necessary.
It is important to note that the HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.
Training
- Fully customised learning materials
- Experienced and professional trainers
- Effective transfer of learning
- Students are given comprehensive feedback throughout their course
- Focused on industry-specific and Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) requirements

Assessment
Students will need to demonstrate they have the necessary skills to respond to an emergency situation, perform CPR procedures, communicate details of an incident and review an incident.
They will learn how to manage, in line with the ARC guidelines, unconscious casualties, both breathing and non-breathing, as well as how to hand over to emergency services.
Training Outcome
All successful students will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Where a student does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard (due to lack of physical ability) - a Certificate of Participation will be issued instead.
