Entry Requirements

Students should have a good level of the English language to be able to appropriately communicate, numeracy skills in relation to telling time and counting, and literacy skills to be able to complete workplace documentation (i.e. First Aid Treatment Form). A preliminary assessment for these entry requirements is necessary.

It is important to note that the HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.

Training

  • Fully customised learning materials
  •  Experienced and professional trainers.
  • Effective transfer of learning
  • Students are given comprehensive feedback throughout their course
  • Focused on industry-specific and Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) requirements.
  • Creating a seamless team-effort approach in enabling successful course completion

Assessment

Students will need to demonstrate they have the necessary skills to:

  • recognise and assess an emergency situation,
  • perform CPR in accordance with relevant guidelines
  • provide relevant and effective first aid procedures
  • operate first aid equipment
  • accurately report details of an incident
  • engage emergency services where required.

Training Outcome

All successful students will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Where a student does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard (due to lack of physical ability) - a Certificate of Participation will be issued instead.
