What’s Changing?
- The SP140 range has now been upgraded and renamed to SP150
- The iconic DSL3 range of auto-shortening fall arrest lanyards are now rated for users from 50kg to 150kg (although the names remains the same).
These updates reflect SpanSet’s ongoing commitment to innovation and safety in work at height equipment.
Why the Upgrade?
Today’s work environments demand more from fall protection systems. Workers carrying heavy tooling, powered devices, radios, batteries or wearing winter PPE can exceed 140kg once fully equipped.
To ensure safe performance for real-world working conditions, SpanSet focused development on the core component responsible for energy management during a fall — the tear-webbing within the shock absorber pack.
Behind the Innovation
A shock absorber works by progressively tearing specially engineered webbing during a fall, dissipating energy to keep arrest forces safely below 6kN.
To achieve a certified user rating of 150kg, SpanSet developed and tested:

After rigorous testing and certification, the result is an improved performance tear webbing that delivers controlled, reliable deployment — even under increased loads.
