The main advantages of using ratchet lashing include:

  • Higher safety: Ensures the load is tightly secured and does not loosen easily, even when subjected to vibrations or movement.

How to Use Ratchet Lashing Properly?

  1. Here are the general steps for proper use:
  2. Inspect the ratchet lashing to ensure there is no damage.
  3. Attach the hooks to the anchor points on the vehicle (if using the two-part type).
  4. Wrap or loop the strap around the load.
  5. Insert the end of the strap into the ratchet mechanism.
  6. Pull the strap tight, then pump the ratchet handle up and down to add tension.
  7. Lock the ratchet handle by pushing it down until it is fully closed.
  8. Ensure the strap is straight and not twisted so the load is properly distributed.
  9. Roll up any excess strap to prevent it from loosening or becoming a hazard.
