Understand Lifting Training

1. Safe Lifting Fundamentals

Understanding the basic principles of lifting, potential hazards, and accident prevention measures. Workers are equipped with essential knowledge to work safely around lifting operations.

2. Equipment Use & Inspection

Identifying various types of equipment such as slings, shackles, wire ropes, and hooks, along with simple inspection steps before use. The focus is on selecting the right equipment according to capacity and working conditions.

3. Common Mistakes in Lifting

Reviewing frequent improper practices such as overloading, unsafe sling angles, using damaged equipment, and unstable load placement—along with how to avoid them.

4. Field Practices & Procedures

A discussion on safe working methods at the site, proper lifting area setup, team communication, lifting signals, and safety steps that must be applied before, during, and after lifting operations.

Why is Lifting Safety Training Important?

1. Preventing Workplace Accidents

Providing a clear understanding of lifting-related risks so workers can avoid critical mistakes in the field.

2. Proper Use of Equipment

Workers learn to select and inspect slings, shackles, hooks, and other tools to ensure they match the load capacity and working conditions.

3. Reducing Load & Equipment Damage

Proper lifting techniques minimize the risk of equipment failure, sling damage, or load drops, making operations more efficient.

4. Enhancing Skills & Confidence

Workers gain greater confidence on the job by understanding safe and systematic procedures for load lifting activities.

Essential Lifting & Rigging Equipment

1. Sling (Webbing / Wire Rope / Chain Sling)

Used as the primary medium for lifting loads. Slings must be selected according to load capacity, working angle, and load conditions to ensure safe and stable lifting.

3. Hook (Lifting Hook)

Serves as the main attachment point on cranes, hoists, or other lifting gear. The hook must have a functioning latch and must not be used if there is any bending or excessive opening of the hook throat.

2. Shackle

A connecting component between slings, hooks, and lifting points. It must be selected based on the appropriate WLL and inspected for deformation, cracks, or worn pins.

4. Lifting Points / Eyebolts

Attachment points installed on loads to provide safe rigging access. Eyebolts must be selected according to the direction of pull and capacity, and must be securely installed without any thread damage.
